Designed to reinterpret an inventive and cross-cultural brand, this project creates an equally innovative dining experience that is both sophisticated and welcoming, timeless and fresh.
Our design for BLT Steak’s Waikiki location sets the stage for experiencing exquisite, inventive cuisine, which bridges traditional French technique to a contemporary American typology. Our approach distills this conceptual foundation into a material-spatial language that is contemporary and urbane yet welcoming, timeless and fresh.
The kitchen is configured to create more transparency and observation of the culinary process. Patrons are seated in a series of open yet intimate rooms with an easy circulation and flow between the dining rooms, bar and exterior terraces. The interiors are detailed and attentive but also informal and contextual. Furnishings, fabrics and large format art installations bring together the colors, patterns and textures of Honolulu. The resulting space creates a satisfying balance between the brand’s global cuisine and this location’s unique setting.
