Blending an Art Deco material palette with Modernist forms, this project responds to the building’s western exposure—and consistent afternoon sun—with darker woods, tinted bronze and blue-green textiles.
Our approach to this interiors project brings together references from the1930s Art Deco period and1960s modernism. The space is defined by an architecture of clean lines and minimalist forms that works in tandem with a material palette of lacquered and figured woods, elegant bronze detailing and glass. The tones of the material palette were selected specifically to respond to the penthouse’s western exposure, using darker woods (walnut & koa), tinted bronze and a blue and green color palette. The resulting space is soothing and elegantly finished, creating a multi-layered experience that reflects surrounding ocean and sky.
