Project Manager - Los Angeles, CA

Guerin Glass Architects is seeking a highly skilled Architectural Project Manager to join our team. As an Architectural Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of architectural projects from inception to completion. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. The Project Manager should have a minimum of 8 years of experience and have a professional degree in Architecture. The Project Manager will work with the Studio Directors and report to the Managing Director and Principals.

Responsibilities:

                    • Project Planning and Management:
                        • Assist in the development of project proposals including scheduling, resourcing and fees.
                        • Develop comprehensive project work plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resources required.
                        • Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment with project goals.
                        • Prepare project schedules, establish project milestones and monitor progress to ensure adherence to budget, schedule and quality standards.
                        • Monitor and report on internal project costs and performance and resourcing.
                        • Manage and track project invoicing and expenses including contracted consultants.
                        • Assist in the preparation, negotiation and execution of Owner/Architect and Consultant contracts.
                        • Prepare, issue and track any contract amendments /additional services scope and construction change Orders.
                    • Budget Management:
                        • Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking expenses, and forecasting financial performance.
                        • Identify potential cost savings opportunities and mitigate budget overruns.
                    • Team Leadership and Collaboration:
                        • Lead project teams, delegating tasks and responsibilities as necessary.
                        • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, ensuring effective communication and teamwork among all stakeholders.
                    • Risk Management:
                        • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.

Candidates must have a professional degree in Architecture and 4-8 years of architectural experience. They should have comprehensive design and documentation skills and be able to demonstrate experience in a wide range of project types, including hospitality, commercial, and residential design. The successful candidate will have extensive experience communicating and building relationships with clients, contractors, and technical consultants. 

Expectations:

Professional degree in architecture, plus at least 4 years of related experience. Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of small to large complex projects. Independently applies advanced architectural concepts and designs. Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures while also providing technical guidance as needed to less experienced architects.

Responsibilities:

Applicants should be ready to demonstrate both experience and comfort level jumping into a project at any phase. The role will include the following specific responsibilities and will expand with firm experience.

Collaborating with and assisting senior staff throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, from schematic design through construction administration. This will include:

                            • Field observation and surveying
                            • Design and planning
                            • Coordination of team members and delegation of responsibilities
                            • Client and Consultant Interface
                            • Document Coordination
                            • Construction Detailing
                            • Quality Control (including review of all engineering and shop drawings to ensure compliance)

Requirements:

                        • Must be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
                        • Must have experience in Microsoft Office, BluBeam Revu, and Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
