Architectural BIM Manager / Design Technologies Specialist
Guerin Glass Architects is seeking a highly skilled BIM Manager to join our team. The Architectural BIM Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes and technologies across all architectural projects and ensuring seamless collaboration among project teams, including project design and engineering consultants, and enhancing efficiency and accuracy of project delivery. In addition, the BIM Manager should lead/contribute to digital technology R&D within the firm and have responsibility for coordinating with and managing outside consultants such as outsourced digital technology and BIM support. As workload requires, the role will also include leading the BIM modeling process and development on specific projects with the architectural team. The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Architecture, with a minimum of 5 years specifically in BIM Management. The BIM Manager will work with the Studio Directors and Project Leaders and report to the Managing Director and Principals.

- Implement and enhance existing BIM strategies and standards for the firm.
- Ensure BIM processes are integrated into project workflows to enhance efficiency and collaboration.
- Develop and Manage BIM execution plans, ensuring alignment with project goals and client requirements.
- Manage and implement 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts.

Team Coordination and Training:

- Advise and mentor each project team, providing guidance on best practices and technical support.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on BIM software and processes.
- Foster a collaborative environment between architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
- Manage and Coordinate outsourcing of BIM services.
- Provide mentoring sessions on best practices in BIM to elevate the firm’s aptitude while using BIM on projects.

Software and Tools Management:

- Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of BIM software and tools, including license and subscription management.
- Ensure software and tools are up-to-date and meet the firm’s technical requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve BIM-related technical issues.

- Implement and enforce quality control procedures for BIM deliverables both internally and for GGA consultants.
- Conduct regular reviews of BIM models to ensure accuracy and compliance with project standards.
- Develop and maintain BIM documentation, including templates, libraries, and standards.

Project Coordination:

- Collaborate with project managers and design teams to integrate BIM into project workflows.

- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in BIM technology, digital design and AI integration.

- Evaluate and promote the adoption of AI in project workflows.
- Manage the testing, implementation and firm training of design tools and services.

Qualifications:
-

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in BIM management, with a strong background in architecture or engineering. Proven experience managing BIM processes and leading teams.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in BIM software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360) AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Enscape. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, and Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator). Experience in Edited would be a plus. Familiarity with other modeling and visualization tools is advantageous.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of BIM standards, practices, and industry trends. Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations.
- Skills: Strong leadership and project management skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
