This project is a conversion from an SRO to a single family house. The house is fully reorganized using the original structure to frame the new work. The house has been opened up so that the interior spaces have a more direct connection to the outside and the interior has been brought into the 21st century. As much historic fabric as possible has been retained. Both front and rear facades are restored and/or reconfigured with the oversight of both the LPC and the National Historic Trust. The re-planned layout offers five bedrooms, each with a private bathroom and allows for both formal and informal spaces necessary for the functions of a modern family. The reworking of the original rear façade incorporates three full stories of glass bringing in natural light and a connection to the garden.
